Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 2026-01-31
1. Introduction
Bitclawd is designed with privacy at its core. We do not use cookies for tracking, and we do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII). This policy explains what limited data we collect and why.
2. Data Controller
The data controller for this website is Bitclawd. For privacy inquiries, contact: privacy@bitclawd.com
3. What Data We Collect
3.1 Data We Collect (Aggregated & Anonymized)
We use a self-hosted, privacy-focused analytics service (Plausible CE) that collects:
- Aggregated page views (no individual identification)
- Referrers (where visitors came from)
- Device type, browser, operating system (anonymized)
- Country/region (IP anonymized immediately, not stored)
- Custom events (e.g., code copy, skill clicks - no PII)
3.2 Data We Do NOT Collect
- Names, emails, user IDs, or IP addresses
- Cookies of any kind
- Cross-site tracking
- Device fingerprinting
- Login/account information
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Our legal basis for processing is legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The anonymized, non-personal nature of the collected data minimizes privacy impact while allowing us to understand how people use the site.
5. Data Retention
Aggregated analytics data is retained for 14 months for trend analysis. Individual events are not retained in identifiable form - there is no way to link analytics data back to individual visitors.
6. Your Data Protection Rights (GDPR)
Under GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Right to Access - Request copies of your personal data
- Right to Rectification - Correct inaccurate information
- Right to Erasure - Request deletion of your data
- Right to Restrict Processing - Limit how your data is used
- Right to Object - Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to Data Portability - Receive data in machine-readable format
Since we do not collect personal data, most of these rights cannot be exercised in practice. However, you may contact privacy@bitclawd.com with any privacy concerns. We respond within one month.
7. International Data Transfers
All analytics data is processed and stored within the European Union on our self-hosted infrastructure (plausible.clpn.io). No data is transferred outside the EU/EEA.
8. Third-Party Services
Plausible CE (Self-Hosted) - Privacy-focused analytics hosted on our own EU infrastructure. No cookies, no cross-site tracking.
Netlify - Our hosting provider. They may collect server logs for security purposes. See their privacy policy.
9. Changes to This Policy
Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We will not notify users individually since we do not collect email addresses.
10. Supervisory Authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk
